Project proposal regarding scenarios

Strategirummet's Climate Scenario Model is based on Excel, and it is not particularly user-friendly.

The purpose of this project is to develop a WEB version of the Climate Scenario Model. Those who self-finance this development become the owners of the model. We imagine that the project participants apply for support for the project.

When users open the model, they are greeted by the outlines of a world map that they can zoom in on. Without Zoom, users can choose to create an overall scenario quantification for the world. When they zoom in a bit, the OECD and non-OECD countries are added to the contours. Participants can then quantify scenarios for both country groups, and run the scenario for the entire world, based on the two quantifications. When users zoom in even further, the contours for OECD and non-OECD are removed and replaced by contours for 9 areas of the world for which users can quantify the scenario. Again, users can then choose to make a scenario calculation for the whole world, but now based on 9 quantifications.

A significant part of the user interface for the new model can be obtained from the Energy Transition Model (ETM) - which is an open source model. The company Quintel has developed the ETM model, and they can therefore be a good subcontractor for the project.
